Conversion implies equivalence

But we already imply equivalence by using year numbers that can be compared.

5784 is unambiguous. It refers to a specific span of time. That span corresponds to a specific range of Gregorian dates. The correspondence is mathematical, not theological.

I propose: add an informative appendix with a reference conversion algorithm. Not normative. Just informative. Implementations can use it or not.
