Subject: Digital verification of kashrut certification

The chair recognizes that the committee has reached an impasse.
Devorah raised a practical problem: verifying kashrut certificates at scale. The discussion has revealed that verification requires a chain of trust: certificate to agency, agency to authority, authority to... something. And that chain terminates in questions this committee cannot resolve.
We have two options. We can declare the problem out of scope. Or we can find a way forward that does not require resolving who has ultimate authority.
I am open to suggestions.
