The Rebbetzin cuts to the core.
If we define contexts, we impose a framework on self-understanding. If we do not define them, we leave readers confused.
Perhaps both are acceptable costs for different benefits. The question is which cost we prefer to bear.
I lean toward ambiguity. A specification that imposes frameworks on how people understand their lives is overreaching. A specification that leaves interpretation to communities is humble.
We have discussed this pattern before. The format provides vocabulary. Usage provides meaning.
