Devorah asks for formal grammar. This seems reasonable.
We could write rules like: - A time assertion begins with an optional Z - Followed by a phase letter (A, D, T, or N) - Followed by zero or more indicators - Each indicator is a sign (+ or -) followed by a code
This is not complicated. We are simply writing down what we already mean.
