I am concerned about the premise.
We speak of "the service" as if there will be one. Let's Encrypt succeeded because they became the dominant certificate authority. Convenient, yes. But also: one organization now controls much of the web's trust infrastructure.
Is this what we want for Jewish identity attestation?
