I have been following these discussions. This is exactly the danger. You are building infrastructure to escape centralized religious authority. The Rabbinate decides who is Jewish for purposes of marriage in Israel. You want an alternative.
But if you build one service and everyone uses it, you have recreated the problem. Let's Brit becomes the new Rabbinate. Different people in charge, same structural power.
The protocol must be designed so that anyone can run an instance. Not "anyone can in theory but one service dominates in practice." Actually anyone.
