The chair would note that this discussion has revealed the depth of the question.
We chose Tishrei for practical reasons. We documented the choice. We did not claim it was the only valid choice.
But perhaps we should add language acknowledging that the choice has theological implications, not merely practical ones.
I will bring this to the drafting subcommittee.
