The committee adopts the following:
1. Month suffixes 'a' and 'b' for Adar I and Adar II 2. Suffix required in leap years, forbidden in regular years 3. Suffix letters derive from Aleph and Bet
The encoding does not resolve which Adar is the "original" month. Communities may interpret bar mitzvah and yahrzeit dates according to their own custom.
The specification provides vocabulary. The tradition provides meaning.
