Subject: Digital verification of kashrut certification

I need to verify a hechsher programmatically.
My supplier management system processes hundreds of ingredients from dozens of vendors. Each ingredient arrives with certification: a hechsher image, a certificate number, sometimes a rabbi's signature. Currently I verify these by phone. I call the certifying agency, give them the certificate number, and ask if it is current.
This does not scale.
Requirements:
1. Given an image or code, confirm the certification is genuine 2. Identify the certifying authority 3. Check if certification is current 4. Retrieve the scope (what is covered, what is not)
I am told this working group has been developing specifications for calendar representation and time observation. Is kashrut verification within scope, or is this a different kind of problem?
