I understand the historical weight. But we are not in that situation.

We are a committee of Jews designing a system for Jews. We control the infrastructure. We set the policies. Nobody is compelling anyone to submit anything.

If we are afraid to build useful systems because of what happened eighty years ago, we build nothing. The rabbinate maintains records. The Jewish Agency maintains records. Every shul with a membership list maintains records.

Are all registries now forbidden?
