The chair's distinction is important.
The format describes. The service challenges.
What the challenge tests is not identity. It tests the ability to articulate identity in a way that differs from previous articulations. This is a skill, not a status.
A person may be Jewish and fail the challenge by writing a block that has already been submitted. A person may succeed by writing a block that is unique but untruthful.
We are not verifying identity. We are verifying creativity.
