The format invites brevity. The system demands elaboration. These pull against each other.
A person might experience their Judaism as simple. They keep Shabbat. They observe the holidays. They feel connected to community. Nothing complicated.
The system would tell them: your simplicity is claimed. You must elaborate.
We are asking people to discover complexity in themselves. Or to invent it.
