The chair's summary is fair.
I am sorry we could not find a way. The experiences we discussed: the camps and the movements, the kibbutzim and the ulpanim, the operations that brought Jews home. These are real. They shaped us. It would have been good to have a way to say so.
But perhaps some things cannot be compressed into codes. Perhaps formation is one of them.
My grandfather's formation was not a token. It was a life. Perhaps that is true for all of us.
