Let me try another approach.

Perhaps geographic identity is better captured through language. Yiddish-speaking, Ladino-speaking, Judeo-Arabic-speaking — these correlate with regions and migrations.

A person could write: - Lang:yi — Yiddish - Lang:lad — Ladino - Lang:jrb — Judeo-Arabic - Lang:he — Hebrew

This captures cultural geography without encoding political borders.
