I see I have misjudged the context.
In the broader world, transparency and external accountability are considered foundational values. Systems that resist scrutiny are generally assumed to be hiding something. I brought that framework here without considering that this community's experience may lead to different conclusions.
The historical concerns that Reb Kovacs referenced are clearly significant to the committee. I appreciate the patience in helping me understand these dynamics. Those of us trained in more universalist frameworks may not immediately grasp the weight of these considerations.
