Subject: Approximate versus uncertain
The current draft includes two modifiers that seem related but are defined differently:
- ? means uncertain or questioning - ~ means approximate or -ish
I want to understand the distinction.
K? would mean: I am not sure about my relationship to kashrut. K~ would mean: I keep kosher, sort of, loosely.
Is the difference that ? indicates internal uncertainty while ~ indicates deliberate imprecision?
