Rav Halevi raises an interesting point.
In my community, the traditional terms are Arabic-influenced anyway. But I take his meaning. If we are encoding Jewish time, Hebrew has a certain... appropriateness.
On the other hand, the Talmud uses both Hebrew and Aramaic. The Rambam wrote in Arabic. Jewish texts have never been confined to a single script.
