Reb Kovacs's story illuminates a concern I have raised before.
The phase boundaries in our specification — A, D, T, N — derive from the Talmudic discussion. But the Talmud records multiple opinions without resolving them. Bein hashmashot according to Rabbi Yehudah is different from bein hashmashot according to Rabbi Yossi.
Our specification uses the letters without defining which opinion they encode. A reader might assume we follow Rabbi Yehudah. Another might assume Rabbi Yossi. A third might assume we have somehow synthesized them.
Have we consulted with anyone about this?
